The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is back in town, and you know what that means - some of the most extreme anti-choice and anti-woman politicos in the country will be taking the stage.
In keeping with this year's theme, "America's Future: The Next Generation of Conservatives," CPAC will feature speakers that the organizers hope will resonate with Millennials. Here are just a few of some of the worst anti-choice speakers:
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) will take the stage as a keynote speaker this year. Sen. Rubio reintroduced the "Arrest Grandma Act" and just this week he called for a complete repeal of Obamacare, including the no-cost birth-control policy that guarantees affordable access to contraception to millions of American women.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is no stranger to anti-choice tactics. He even tried to sneak a "personhood" amendment that would ban abortion in almost all cases into a flood-insurance bill.
Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) voted to defund Planned Parenthood and to allow private employers to refuse to cover birth control or any service required under the health-reform law for virtually any reason.
Guess who else made the list of speakers Millennials should watch at CPAC...
None other than 2012's anti-choice vice-presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI).
Rep. Ryan has been candid about his extreme anti-choice views.
Rep. Ryan wants to ban all abortion care, with no exception for rape or incest. He also cosponsored forced ultrasound legislation and the "Let Women Die" bill. And his latest budget plan would repeal Obamacare, which would have a huge negative impact on women and families.
In case CPAC organizers hadn't made their anti-choice agenda clear enough, they have also secured Students for Life president Kristan Hawkins to speak during the conference.
Clearly the folks running CPAC don't want to accept the facts. Sixty-one percent of Millennials are pro-choice and these anti-choice speakers do not speak for them.

Sarah Palin, Tom Coburn, and Rick Santorum Walk Into a Senate Race. We wish this line were the beginning of a lame joke, but it's not. Anti-choice Senate candidate Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire completed the right-wing "trifecta" as her campaign touted its endorsement from these three "leaders."
One of our colleagues (Do you know Beth Shipp?) aptly described this trio as the "Snap, Crackle, Pop" of the anti-choice movement.

Please know that we mean no disrespect to the Rice Krispies® brand; but the description just makes total sense, and thus we are morally obligated to include it.
Whatever happens in Ayotte's primary, voters in the Granite State have a pro-choice option in the general election, Rep. Paul Hodes, the NARAL Pro-Choice America PAC-endorsed candidate. Go, Hodes!

Please, allow us to "refudiate" Sarah Palin. She's weighing in on the U.S. Senate race in New Hampshire, and she's playing with the facts.
Her description of anti-choice Senate candidate Kelly Ayotte's record requires clarification. When endorsing Ayotte, Palin wrote that, as attorney general, Ayotte "battled all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court to protect the rights of New Hampshire parents - and won!" Well, that statement is a surprise to the Supreme Court justices who voted to send Ayotte's case back to a lower court. In short, she didn't win. She didn't even come close.
Furthermore, the law in question was repealed by a bipartisan coalition of lawmakers in New Hampshire about a year after Ayotte failed to make her case before the Supreme Court.
I know, surprise, surprise. Palin is living in her made-up reality. But, this is important. We can't let Palin manufacture distortions about Ayotte's record in the same way she comes up with words that don't appear in the dictionary.
What's the theme here? Well, it's two fold.
First, Granite State voters need to know that Ayotte is on Palin's list, which is way out of the mainstream in a state that gets an A- when it comes to protecting choice. New Hampshire voters like their freedom to make the personal, private decisions that are best for them and their families. Yes, these values include protecting women's access to safe, legal abortion care.
Second, voters have a chance to uphold the state's tradition of standing up for individual freedom and privacy by electing Rep. Paul Hodes as their next U.S. senator. Rep. Hodes has been a great champion of choice since he first won election to the House in 2006. He fought against the Bush administration's dangerous and ineffective "abstinence-only" policies. We know he'll make a great senator. In fact, our PAC endorsed him.
Ayotte lost once before the Supreme Court, and we look forward to making sure she loses once again at the ballot box in November. Go, Hodes!
