Choice Out Loud Heads to College Campuses!
Travis Ballie is the manager of affiliate and national programs at NARAL Pro-Choice America.
NARAL Pro-Choice America and our state affiliates are partnering on our brand-new campaign, Choice Out Loud.
And it is off to a roaring start!
Part of this groundbreaking effort is training and developing Millennials to organize in their own communities. From South Dakota to California, North Carolina to New Hampshire, NARAL Pro-Choice America's Choice Out Loud on-campus representatives are implementing innovative tactics to advance and highlight the pro-choice values of their peers.
Here are a few of the recent anecdotes from the amazing work of our campus organizers:
Showing Love for Pro-Choice Values
On Valentine's Day, pro-choice Millennial rock-stars from all over the country participated in a photo campaign sharing what they love most about being pro-choice. Check out the full collection on our Facebook page.
Through their collective social media networks, our photos and pro-choice messages reached thousands of young people. We love telling our stories about why we support reproductive freedom!
Calling out CPCs
NARAL Pro-Choice Montana and Emily Linkins, a campus organizer there, helped to expose the anti-choice tactics of many so-called "crisis pregnancy centers" which spread inaccurate and manipulative information to pregnant women. Emily was quoted in The Missoula Independent:
"They offer free pregnancy tests to get women in the door, and then they intentionally fill their heads with misleading information about their options."
Writing for Choice!
The publication is called Wetlands and serves as an arts and literary magazine dedicated to promoting healthy gender exploration and sexual expression. The journal focuses on reproductive justice issues ranging from Washington state's pro-choice Reproductive Parity Act to the fight for marriage equality.
