The Countdown to Blog For Choice Day 2013!
It's January, and that means that it's getting to be time for one of our favorite events of the year--Blog for Choice Day!
Tuesday, January 22, will be a particularly special one. Not only is it our eighth annual Blog for Choice Day, but it is the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade!
This year, we're asking you to write on this topic: Share your story about why you're pro-choice.
Whether you write a blog post or two sentences, it's up to you! Just be sure to sign up now so we can get in touch with you and add your blog to our list.
A lot of pro-life people think that being Pro-choice means you always choose abortion. That is not the case. I found myself with an unintended pregnancy. We did use a condom but we landed in that percentage where it broke. I was very unsure that I wanted to bring a child into the world. After thinking it over and knowing that I had the right to choose I chose to keep him.
That is what pro-choice is about. The right to choose. I felt safe knowing that the choice was mine to make. Truly it was and always will be. The choice is meant to be between a woman, her doctor and her god (if she is religious). Not a man in a suit sitting in an office with no idea what's going on in the real world. I was lucky. My child was not the result of a rape. Some women aren't that lucky and they have to have the right to choose. For their sake and the sake of the child and any they may have in the future.
This is only one story about why choice matters. Your story matters, too. Make your voice heard on January 22 about why you're pro-choice.
If you don't maintain a blog or personal website, you can still participate through Facebook or Twitter. Post the Blog for Choice Day graphic on your Facebook wall. Tag your tweet with #Tweet4Choice.
We hope you join us on January 22. Sign up today to make this another successful year!
