Mitt Romney's Abortion Lie

| | Comments (2) | TrackBacks (0)

Apparently Mitt Romney will say just about anything to get women to vote for him - even if that means lying about his anti-choice positions.

First, he said, "There's no legislation with regards to abortion that I'm familiar with that would become part of my agenda."

Then, within 24 hours, the Real Romney resurfaced and threatened to defund Planned Parenthood.

We're not going to let Mitt Romney get away with confusing voters about what kind of president he plans to be.

NARAL Pro-Choice America Political Director Beth Shipp spoke with NPR about Romney's inconsistency when it comes to his abortion position:

"That's quite a shock, coming from Mitt Romney, who has consistently called for the overturn of Roe v Wade; who said that he would appoint Supreme Court justices who would do just that; who has an extensive pro-life agenda on his website that anybody can access...I know Mitt Romney really wants women to vote for him, but the way that he's going about this, by lying to people about where he stands on the issues, is not going to serve him well come Nov. 6."

NARAL Pro-Choice America Deputy Political Director Erika West was featured in The Daily Beast commenting on Romney's misleading statements:

Karen Finney, Democratic strategist and NARAL Pro-Choice America board member, talked with The Hill about our election strategy to make sure women voters know exactly where Romney stands.

We won't stand for Mitt Romney's attempts to mislead voters on his choice position. Start talking about the Real Romney with your friends about what kind of president he'll be - and why we must stop him from setting foot inside the White House.
