Romney and the SBA List: A Match for Mittens
Today, we learned even more about who anti-choice former Gov. Mitt Romney (R-Mass.) is.
That's because Gov. Romney just received the endorsement of the extreme anti-choice Susan B. Anthony List. The organization vowed to spend $10 to $12 million to put their anti-choice man in the White House.
Just who is the Susan B. Anthony List?
It's a radical, anti-choice group. Here is its agenda:
- Defund Planned Parenthood
- Pack the Supreme Court and other federal courts with judges who will likely overturn Roe v. Wade
- Roll back President Obama's no-cost birth-control policy.
- Enact the extreme "rape-audits" bill, which manipulates the tax code to advance anti-choice policies and could spur the IRS to audit rape and incest survivors who choose abortion care.
With an agenda like this, it's no surprise that the SBA List would endorse Gov. Romney.
In fact, the organization's president heaped praise on the presumptive Republican nominee:
Women deserve a president who truly respects our views on an issue so central to womanhood. A President Romney will be that man. If there was murkiness during the last election...absolute clarity exists now...
She's right about the "absolute clarity."
If you want a president who will defund Planned Parenthood, roll back insurance coverage of birth control, and appoint judges who will likely overturn Roe v. Wade, then Mitt Romney is your man.
The trouble for Gov. Romney and the SBA List is that their agenda is deeply out of touch with Americans' values and priorities.
That's why President Obama leads Gov. Romney by a double-digit margin among women in key battleground states.
Mitt Romney may want to Etch-a-Sketch away his anti-choice record, but by walking with the extreme Susan B. Anthony List, he shows us exactly who he is.
