Keep Your Mitts Off Wisconsinites' Birth Control!
Mitt Romney came to Wisconsin this weekend.
He repeated his vow to defund Planned Parenthood, and campaigned alongside his anti-choice buddies, Gov. Scott Walker and Rep. Paul Ryan.
Fortunately, hundreds of pro-choice Wisconsinites came out to give Romney a warm, Cheesehead welcome. They had a message for him:
Lisa Subeck, executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin, said it was particularly telling that Romney chose to march in lockstep with the extreme Gov. Walker:
On the heels of some of the worst attacks on women's health in our state in a generation, does Romney not think Wisconsinites are paying attention to his extreme actions and rhetoric? Scott Walker leads the GOP's War on Women here in Wisconsin, with attacks ranging from defunding Planned Parenthood to dismantling the state's family-planning program and from restricting abortion access to bringing failed "abstinence-only" back to our classrooms. Tonight, Mitt Romney aligns himself with the extreme social agenda of Governor Scott Walker.
Unfortunately for Governors Romney and Walker, women are paying attention--in Wisconsin and throughout the nation.
That's why a new USA Today/Gallup poll shows President Obama opening up a big lead against Romney in 12 key swing states. That lead is driven by women voters flocking to the president.
Bravo to the pro-choice Americans who rallied in Wisconsin!
Americans are seeing that the Romney-Walker-Ryan agenda couldn't be more out of touch with our values and priorities.
