The Woman Rep. Issa Didn't Want You to Hear From
Kristin Koch is the deputy director of communications for online advocacy strategies for NARAL Pro-Choice America.
The picture says it all:

Yesterday's congressional hearing on contraception, where not one woman was allowed to talk about the importance of birth control, sparked outrage. And eight of the ten anti-choice witnesses were men.
Who is the woman the committee's chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), refused to let testify?
Let us introduce you to Sandra Fluke, who recorded this video:
It's, in a word, amazing. It shows pure courage to stand up for what's right and a determination to not allow members of Congress to bully or intimidate women.
Anti-contraception members of Congress didn't silence Sandra Fluke - don't let them silence you. We expect the U.S. Senate to vote on the Blunt amendment when they return from their recess next week. Help us stop this extreme attack on women's contraceptive coverage.

Thank you, Sandra Fluke. It is disgraceful that Rep. Issa refused allowed you to testify and that he was tremendously disrespectful towards you saying you are not qualified to discuss the issue of contraception. Frankly the Congressman is far less qualified to discuss contraception policies than you are. Chin up and the fight goes on. Congratulations for this video. Please know that there are men out there who care and support contraceptive and other health services. The GOP is manipulating an emotional issue to cover up their lack of progress on meaningful policies towards job creation. The only area that the GOP has any influence today is to hypocritically waste taxpayer money on religious moral issues that are best left up to individuals to decide for themselves. Once again, thank you for your video.
Nobody is denying women access to contraceptives, which isn't a constitutional right;they are defending the religious right&freedom of those with conscience, a constitutional right, from paying for someone's contraceptive coverage. The right to choose contraception does not entail a right to have it paid for by someone else http://t.co/wPeARDwB
Out with Darrell Isshole.
@littlebytesnews you are sadly misinformed or a troll. I am betting you are a troll.
Thank you for all that you do for us!!!
Ms. Fluke,
THANK YOU! I appreciate your willingness to be a voice for tens of millions of American women. I am stunned that you were not allowed to speak before this congressional committee. I shouldn't be stunned, but I am.
Issa may not have wanted your voice to be heard, but your youtube video and subsequent interviews have been heard by millions. You have shown America just what Issa and his like-minded members of Congress are trying to do. Had you not shared your experience, most Americans would have no idea what happened before the Congressional committee on contraception. Americans wouldn't know that this committee had stacked the deck. Americans wouldn't know that this committee was refusing to hear the voices of women, those most effected by this legislation.
Men act as if this legislation doesn't effect them. What an absurd position. Pregnancy requires men to contribute to the process. 50% of pregnancies in the US are unplanned. Women and men need this legislation. Contraception isn't just a women's issue. Unfortunately, as long as Congress treats this issue as a women's issue, it will continue to be belittled.
The majority of Americans support the new legislation on contraception. Thank you for speaking for us.
Best wishes to you,
Lisa
