Rep. Issa: What Do Women Know about Birth Control?
Anti-choice lawmakers' war on contraception has just gone from over the top to over the top-er.
This morning, the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on Oversight and Government Reform is holding a hearing on President Obama's policy ensuring that all women can get contraceptive coverage without a copay.
The hearing will feature 10 witnesses--eight of whom are men; none of them is testifying in support of contraceptive coverage.
The committee's chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), refused to let a female law-school student testify about the importance of birth control.
I guess women who use birth control just don't know as much about it as men who are against it.
If you think this is ridiculous/outrageous/appalling, let Rep. Issa know: (202) 225-3906 or tweet @DarrellIssa.

Most RIDICULOUS congressman!
Hopefully Obama's policy will prevail. This would be a most satisfying defeat for Issa the Terrible.
What century are you living in and under what rock?
What century are you living in, and under what rock?
It's the Republicans who want the government off our backs and in our bedroom. Vote the a-hole out of office.
What right do you have to interfere with the control of a woman's reproductive organs? Crawl back into your cave, your super fool!
This bill does it not take care of the man also.
(( Vasectomy ))..
There is only one explaination for their anti birth control policy and I find the following statement covers it. Conservatives want to keep their wives and girlfriends barefoot and pregnant. It just happens they want and need government help to do it.
Really?!! Issa he crazy? And the name of this hearing was Misogynist Committee to Save America from its Slut Population? And the all male panel are repressed homosexuals? And that is no slight to homosexuals, but come on, if you hate our gi'gi's exit the closet, and stop punishing us for our biological needs. Real men of all kinds love free strong women.
I am sick and tired of men like the ones in this panel, running roughshod over our bodies and our rights. It is men like these that have kept women from voting privileges, see it fit for us to be dragged around by the hair on our heads, tried to have us believe it is our fault that we get raped and then beat up and/or murdered by men we know. These days MUST be over and we must do whatever it takes to make sure future girls/women do not have to tolerate any more such abuse of power.
