One More Word on New Hampshire
As reported here on Blog for Choice, the New Hampshire Executive Council voted last month to reject a contract with Planned Parenthood, forcing the state's six clinics to stop providing birth control.
Councilor Raymond Wieczorek summed up his thoughts on women who use contraception:
If they want to have a good time, why not let them pay for it?
The Executive Council met again last Wednesday, and could have overturned its previous vote to defund Planned Parenthood.
But...it didn't. The Executive Council let stand its previous decision, putting women's health in jeopardy and putting the state at risk of losing federal dollars.
The lengths to which these anti-choice politicians will go are astounding!
Fortunately, NARAL Pro-Choice New Hampshire was there to answer back. Check out their rally at the State House in Concord:

No-cost birth control is the way to go!
What an absolute lack of insight shown by the Executive Council. By providing birth control to women free of charge, you may prevent a woman and her children from being on welfare.
When my wife and I travel to the East next Fall, we will avoid your state.
Raymond Wieczorek is a total moron for making a statement like. What a pig. Men can't keep their members in their pants most of the time and it's OK for them to "do" anything that walks (or not) but dear Lord, a woman has some fun and if denied contraception has to deal with the consequences of that? I have some very strong words I'd say to that mans face and it would make him turn very red.. Then I'd probably punch his lights out!
Pregnancy isn't always the result of "fun"; it can also be the result of rape. Maybe Mr.Wieczorek should pull his head out of his rear before he makes anymore inflammatory statements. Ignorance of reality is no excuse.
I was a young girl in Las vegas in 1960 when it was eleagel to have a obortion, I had to have one to get help with a bad pregnacy, I was going to lose my too daughters in a divorse if I was pregnet Please help women not lose this right to get tested for many other things also. God bless us women I have a book that has been writen about my true life story it is a very sad book about many men abusing me through my life time. Breakingmysilence.net Hope you will read my story and have me come and speak about abuse of women . Hugs to you all great women. Jane McCormick
Wieczorek is a misogynistic prick. It takes two to make a baby, dumb ass. Why are we women always condemned when we become pregnant unintentionally? Um, hello! You men play a role in that--we can't impregnate ourselves! Or did you not hear that part in health class?
Here's how men like him think: If a woman gets pregnant unintentionally, she's a slut. If a woman wants birth control to prevent unwanted pregnancy, she's still a slut.
If a woman is sexually active in any way, shape, or form, she's a slut. That is what men like Wieczorek think.
This is about punishing women for acting on their sexuality. It is ALL about that.
