Women have a legal right to make their own health decisions. Illegal abortion does not end abortion, it ends safe abortions done by medical professionals. Illegal abortions are done by people like Dr. Kermit of Pennsylvania.

All the men who are against abortion need to turn their efforts into ending the war on children & grown up children in Afghanistan & Iraq.

Instead of MOVING Forward in Women's RIGHTS, this is a BIG Step BACKWARDS!!! Making Abortion's Illegal does NOT "END" Abortions. It will continue, repeating HISTORY by going back to the days of BACK ALLEY'S and BOTCHED Procedures that will END "SAFE" Abortions that are now performed by Professionals in SAFE Environments.

Just wanted to state again how I and many other women feel about this issue. We have been through the years before legal abortions, only to see how women and young girls, many raped, victims of incest, poor and uneducated had to suffer with a quack abortion in unsanitary conditions. This was overturned by Roe vs. Wade and we want it to stay that way. We as women have the right to decide what we want to do with our bodies. Just because we have the physical requirements to be pregnant, does not mean we have the mental, financial, or educational needs to carry this out. Most young girls and women do not get any support from the very men and boys that get them pregnant, whatever the circumstances. Then our government has the burden of financially taking care of these families. Most of the "fathers" go on their merry way, probably to have even more children, that they also shun the responsibility of. Yet this group of "MEN" want to decide for all of us females, how we have to live our lives. May God have mercy on your souls, and may he let you see the light about this issue, that has different meaning now than it did years ago. SO, do the right thing and listen to the women on this one. Why should women and girls have to suffer for the very thing that men use them for? Is it fair for a woman to have to raise unwanted children, give them up for adoptions, or let families raise them who cannot afford to give them what is needed in life. We need to keep contraceptives and health clinics open, to help protect from the diseases these MEN and Boys are so eager to share. Our nation will be judged for the very decisions made about this. I hope we can count on enough of you to truly represent us; the girls and women who helped put you in office.

Well woman in America again will have to take to the streets.Once again they must let a new generation of younger ladies that this is not about babies. It's about putting woman in there proper place. You get pregnant you have the baby you have nothing to say about it. If you are poor well there is always a back alley.You see in the new congress who are fighting to get rid of your choice all togather. Men right wing Republicans they want keep woman down always have. The older woman now must teach the younger to fight for there rights. Knowing the whole story of this issue. I think they will respond in great numbers.

The only thing stopping funding for abortion does is to return poor and middle class women to the "coat hanger, back alley" days when there women died as a result of unsafe abortions. Rich women will do what they did in those same "coat hanger" days, they will fly to Europe or other countries and have safe abortions by doctors. And these new restrictions that are wanted by the anti-any-abortion people will deny women who have suffered the death of a baby in utero the right to have a DNC to remove the dead infant....because that is also considered an abortion.

Focus on the Family and Operation Rescue are leading the charge in this anti-abortion crusade. Most Christians who attend a few church services a week are given out-of-context Bible scriptures and never bother to do their own research.
When I am confronted with a Christian, I like to point out that the womb rejects 1/3 of all pregnancies; abortions count for another 1/4. Whether the miscarriage is a bodily rejection or a deliberate termination, God does with miscarriages what He does with miscarriages.
If they would just ask themselves, "What does God do with all those natural miscarriages?", they would discover that God does not consider the unborn yet a life.

I am a proud mother of 2 and a civil engineer. I am shocked to see what's happening and I am afraid for the future my daughter will be in. I believe that if we do not speak out our poor women will go back to suicide when pregnant or unsafe abortions. I do have the resources but it's not fair for so many teens that make poor choices and these choices make these girls mothers and consequently they do not finish highschool and college. To help women become independent and succeed in life we have to help them not become pregnant until they feel they can support themself. Being a mother you must be ready for the responsibility of raising a human being. We no longer have big families helping these women. The horrible anxiety of a women raped or pregnant that does not want the child is unbearable. Love onto a child can not be forced and to protect children we must protect the right to choose.

NEVER forget how evil the right wing organized religious goons are. GOD hates republicans.

I agree with russell utoft. If the repubs were so concerned with babies they would adopt a few less fortnate ones from our ghettos, etc. Sure don't see that happening much.

What we need is a good old '60's style 'March on Washington' in the spring or as soon as the weather is consistent enough for people to travel from the 50 states to DC.

The Republicans want these women to have babies, but they don't want to pay for the health care to take care of these children after they are born.

The Republicans want government to stay out of their personal life so they can carry their firearms (like semi-automatics) yet they want to pass a law that contradict someone else's choices with their life. They don't even care if a pregnancy is the result of the abuse of incest or rape. They do not value the life of the woman, only the life of the embryo and how they want to control it. It is always about money not the valuing of a woman's life and the healthcare coverage for all.

These republicans care so much about unborn children, what about the children that are here!!! They could give a rat's ass about the children in need in this country! Why aren't these CRAZIES putting all of their efforts into putting the pieces of this country back together instead of trying to take away our rights!! I respect the view of all people but when you poke your head into my life and my business oh Houston we have a PROBLEM!! More and more when things like this occur I think to myself maybe I should move to another country (if there's even such a place) where I'm valued as a HUMAN BEING and my rights aren't being taken away.

Isn't it pathetic how many conservatives complain about abortions happening in this country, but they also complain about the health care bill with or without abortion included in the mix? It's obvious to me: they don't care about their citizens at all. They just want to turn women back into human incubators, and obviously don't care about any form of life outside their tiny little world millions of miles from the real one (but it'd just look like a regular building from a distance). Trying to gain their own level of domination.

My words to those people: If you oppose abortion, you have two choices. If you're a man, keep your penis in your pants. If you're a woman, don't go to the clinic. Simple solutions.
