When Focus on the Family airs their ad, I will be thankful that I also chose life. Without chosing life, I would not HAVE a family.

What happened to free speech? Your right not to hear what Tebow has to say ends where my right to hear it begins.

You guys need to give it up. Nobody is on your side except your hateful brethren. NYTimes, Washington Post, and every other major media outlet favors the Tebow ad, free speech, positivity and a story of love. Take your hate back; nobody wants it.

As you can see by the other comments on here, being pro-choice is a reflection of the minority of the population. Freedom of speech in this country is dead. Tebow and his mom are telling their story. Leave them alone. If you don't wanna watch it, don't.

I love these comments! I was expecting readers here to support this effort to quash the right of FoF to speak their piece, but instead you guys are getting it right! Bravo! The only "choice" these abortion proponents support is the "choice" to abort. Anything that differs from that is something they desperately scramble to silence. Thank God they're not successful! I'm loving all of the attention that the pro-abortion groups are giving this ad and all of the discussions they are sparking. The ad could have gone unnoticed but now, everyone will be watching for it and will get to witness the result of a positive "choice".

When Focus on the Family's ad runs with Tim Tebow, I'll be focusing on how proud I am of this young, Godly man standing up for beliefs despite the threat of public scrutiny. God forbid that people like he and Carrie Prejean make statements about their personal beliefs that don't fall in line with the politically correct. I'm here because my mother chose life, and I'm married to a wonderful woman whose mother chose life. Far beyond that, I'm thankful for a woman who chose life over 2000 years ago when she gave birth to my LORD and Savior Jesus Christ (despite that she claimed to be a virgin and was pregnant out of wedlock). I can't wait to see the ad, and I hope it makes EVERYONE think before they make the WRONG choice! CHOOSE LIFE!!!

PRO LIFE!My Mom was told by my biological (who didn't bother) to get an abortion. He already had kids. My Mom was told she wouldn't be able to have kids. She chose me. Later on had another son as well. I have a friend and a cousin who both were raped and had their kids and love them unconditionally. Kids weren't asked to be brought into messed up situations. If girls just want an abortion cause they can't keep their pants up, then maybe the parents need to re-evaluate their raising of their kid(s). If you don't want the baby, there are plenty of people like my wife and I who can't have kids and would gladly love the child as their own. A fetus's DNA is it's own. It's NOT the same as it's mother's making it a living being inside another. A baby was a plan by God before it was ever in the womb.

It is finally out of the bag. "Pro-choice" really does mean "Pro-Abortion". Tebow's mother made a CHOICE. People who are pro-abortion are not to happy right now about choice. When Focus on the Family airs their ad, I will be thankful that my mother also chose life. Lucky for me, I was born in 1970, before Roe v Wade was forced upon the states. If what happened to my parents would have happened now, not only would there be a possibility of abortion being a choice, but my father could have been arrested for statutory rape. My mother was only 17 when she became pregnant with me and my father was nearly 21. Of course, back then there was more a sense of personal responsibility. there's consequences to everything you do. Take responsibility for your actions. Where has this country gone?

There's enough of a chorus here already, but I'll throw in my two cents anyway.

If you're going to call yourself pro-choice, you should be working toward ways to make alternatives to abortions more accessible. Encouraging people to NOT abort is an encouragement to seek other solutions.

However, if by "pro-choice" you are actually intent on preserving the option of abortion at the expense of finding more humane alternatives, then you need to call yourself "pro-abortion." If you do not seek to increase the range of options available to women in vulnerable situations, then you aren't really "pro-choice."

Oh, and yes. I'm pro-life.

I stand behind NARAL's effort, because:

1. I respect a woman's right to make choices that affect her life, her body and her family. I've seen to many men resort to violence and coercion in dictating what women's choices *should* be to think that we -- as a country -- should ever silence women's voices in issues concerning sex or childbearing.

2. I respect life. Pre- Roe v. Wade, illegal abortions caused uncounted deaths. In countries where such bans are still in place, they still do. Likewise, not allowing for abortions to protect the health of a woman leads to even more deaths.

3. I respect the right to free speech. As much as the Tebow family has the right to express their views, NARAL also has a constitutionally protected right to express their views as well.

In terms of respect for free speech, how are all the "give it up NARAL" comments above any different from NARAL's efforts to highlight the problems with Focus on the Family's ad? It seems to me that many of the critics here are being pretty selective in their support of free speech.

4. I respect responsible practices in the media and fairness in corporate policies. CBS is not providing a counter-viewpoint to what is inarguably a contentious national issue. CBS continues to reject other "controversial" and politically oriented Super Bowl ads -- notably those from an LGBT dating site, MoveOn and political figures.

Focus on the Family spent millions on this ad buy. In a democracy, you shouldn't get the biggest megaphone just because you can afford it.

5. I respect truth. Focus on the Family *is* anti-gay. Focus on the Family *is* anti-choice. They advance an irresponsible agenda that would deny kids access to life-saving age-appropriate sex education that can keeps them from delaying sexual activity and helps them make healthier choices if they do decide to engage in sexual contact. Furthermore, I don't buy this whole "hate the sin, love the sinner line." Focus on the Family is one of the loudest opponents of gay marriage, effectively denying gay and lesbian couples more than 1,000 important legal rights that heterosexual couples have. That is discrimination that denies monogamous, loving couples access to lead happier, healthier and more stable lives. That is an anti-gay act of hate.

One last thing: I'm sure plenty of anti-choice folks will want to respond to these thoughts. Please do, but I'd humbly ask that you spend at least as much time today working to reduce unintended pregnancies, promoting the adoption of children by loving families and fixing abusive foster care systems.

In other words, you may strongly disagree with my beliefs, but I hope we can all get behind the idea that every child born into this world should be loved and supported.

I have an idea. Be REALLY pro-choice, and allow women to make an INFORMED choice, one which might be choosing life. Michelle, I also have a daughter and I will make sure she knows the choice she has BEFORE having sex. She has the choice to say "NO". She is in control of her body. If she chooses to say "YES" and she gets pregnant, she will have been taught personal responsibility. If she doesn't have that choice to say "NO", then that would be the ONLY time I think the choice of abortion should apply. We have strayed away from personal responsibility and wanting our government to make it okay to do so.

I am struck by how many of you anti-abortion commenters love to appropriate the word "choice" for your anti-choice agenda. Anyone who believes that abortion should be illegal - and thus that women should be DENIED choice - should stop using the word choice right now. I am pro-choice, provided that it is an educated choice that allows the materials for ALL options and resources to be considered by the pregnant woman without any outside pressure. This would include providing written referrals to adoption agencies, maternity homes, and all other resources that are available to assist a woman through a crisis pregnancy, a print-out of an ultrasound of her pregnancy, the risks of an abortion, and a few days to consider the material in the privacy of her own home. If the woman is still so hard-hearted as to demand an abortion, then she can have access to as safe an abortion as possible, in a facility that complies with all the emergency preparedness that is required for out-patient surgery centers, and proper follow-up to ensure minimization of any complications that can result from the abortion. When I had my crisis pregnancy, I was given little choice when I visited a Planned Parenthood clinic. I was told that this pregnancy would ruin my life and all would be better off if I ended it. I made a choice that was not offered by this clinic - that of Life for my Child. I made my choice and I chose LIFE. I do not want to restrict the rights of any other woman to make a similar choice, as long as it is an INFORMED CHOICE. The information distributed by Planned Parenthood is insufficient to constitute INFORMED CHOICE. I was not given any options to seek other choices, such as keeping the baby or offering him up for adoption. This baby is now a wonderful 25 year old providing fine service defending the rights of other to make choices.

What an absolute joy it is to see all these pro-life comments!! No one would suggest that a mother has the "choice" to kill her unwanted newborn - that would be murder, but 48 hours earlier, 7 days earlier, three months earlier, killing that same child is a "choice"?

Benjamin Franklin was his mother's 14th child. I wonder if she really wanted a 14th child - the Franklins never had much money. What would our country have been like if Mrs. Franklin had the legal option to abort Ben Franklin? What if her society told her that it would be best for her not to have another baby - or that big families were irresponsible?

I mourn for any woman who died during an abortion, but do you mourn the countless deaths of babies who died thru abortion? To give life to a child is a choice. Why do people feel so threatened by an ad with a mother sharing why she choose life for her child? Focus on the Family is acknowleging that people make choices and encouraging women to choose life for their child.

A woman's first choice is made when she decides whether or not to have sex. If she's old enough to have sex, she's then old enough to accept the risk that a pregnancy will result. To choose to have sex with the idea that if an "unwanted" pregnancy results then she can just abort the child is the height of irresponsibility.

As to abortion and Christianity: the Christ hymn in Philippians chapter 2 speaks of Christ taking on human nature. It does not speak of any time when God the Son gave up the [rights of] divine nature and then was just flesh. Christ's humanity in utero is presupposed, as it is in Luke. It's fitting, also, that the first foe Jesus faces is Herod's slaughter of infants.

The second-century Christian document, the Didache, draws heavily from the Sermon on the Mount and emphatically says "do not murder a child in corruption, nor kill that which is born" (2:3). I apologize for the rigid translation there. In any case, the first command there refers to exposure of an already-born child, and the second refers to that which a woman produces -- it does not presume that the child is already born. Thus, abortion is contrary to the Christian tradition from the beginning.

One cannot support abortion and claim to have any meaningful believe in the Incarnation, nor any sense of continuity with early Christianity.

I am one of those that regrets my abortion. It was 28 years ago, that I made that horrible mistake. It has been a "choice" that I have regretted ever since. 28 years ago, they told me it was just "tissue" not a baby, of course I know better now. I have confessed this sin, (yes I am Catholic) and I pray for God's forgiveness everyday and cry all the time for the baby I murdered. I was never able to have any more children after that. I am an advocate of pro-life. The question, what I will be doing during the Super Bowl Ad...I will be watching the Tebow Ad and I will be praying that all abortion ends.

For several weeks, pro-abortionists claim the Tebows made up the story. They claim that no doctor could possibly offer abortions in the Philippines since it's illegal. They claim that abortions are strictly forbidden in the case of the mother's life in danger, and jail time is strictly given to those doctors and others who disobey that. Well, several facts refute these lies and slanders. Abortion is indeed under the law since it was made illegal allowed in the case of mother's life in danger. It is also commonplace to be practiced for birth control, thus illegal, and 20 percent of those are done by doctors. A small percentage yes, but given hundreds of thousands are done each year illegal, that shows how much the claim no doctor would do abortions much less recommend them is a flat out joke.

Funny part is that we are fighting for the rights of all the members of NARAL, NOW, etc., to be born in the first place!

Their arguments we are doing this to control women's bodies fall flat when we would EQUALY OPPOSE abortion if the mother wants to keep the baby but the father and/or her relatives and/or society pressure her to get the abortion, when her life is in no danger and especially when the baby results from consensual sex!

This ad helps people to find the truth. That is why it threatens the abortion industry so severely.

I love it how people say that they are pro choice by telling people that them being alive was a choice, further proving the fact that abortion is a choice of complete and utter murder. There is no dancing around this fact, abortion is murder.

I have always disliked sports and normally wouldn't be caught dead watching the Super Bowl. Now, thanks to this ad (which I would never have known about if the hard core pro-aborts hadn't made such a stink over it)I will be watching the Super Bowl this Sunday and looking for the ad.

The effort to stop the ad shows either a lack of knowledge and/or a lack of respect for the American constitutional rights of freedom of speech and expression. You hard core pro-aborts want to silence every voice that disagrees with you on abortion. Why? Are you afraid people will see truth in the pro-life side? If there is no truth in the pro-life side, then why are you afraid of their message? Won't people see how wrong it is and turn away from it if it's so wrong? You fear the truth.

There were a lot of shrill comments about what was in the ad when you hadn't even seen it yet. How can you claim to know what it was when you hadn't even seen it?

I will be watching the ad this weekend and focusing on how glad I am that freedom of speech reigned supreme so that we are free to see the ad. I will also be focusing on how you people do not fight to protect women who are forced to abort against their will, and you don't protest too strongly when they are hurt or killed by boyfriends who don't want to be fathers. Like it's been said before, only the "choice" to abort is acceptable to you. Any other choice and you end your support and trust of women very fast.

Chris, Have you looked at pictures of fetal development? A baby has a beating heart. Doesn't that mean it is alive? Babies born at 24 weeks can survivie outside their mother's womb and yet abortion is legal thru all 9 months. How do you feel about partial birth abortion? Do you know what that procedure involves?

I see what you are saying about abortion in the third trimester. And please don't get me wrong, I think that people should not get abortions, but I still believe it should be their choice. I think overall what should be happening is inserting more about sex into school's education. If we were to teach children about sex and not having it, I think the amount of abortions would substantially drop. Not only about not having it but about safe sex to prevent pregnancies all together. Also, people in general need to change. When we see unmarried women being pregnant we are incredibly judgmental, instead of being welcoming and helpful. This may lead to abortion, which still doesn't justify it. So, maybe next time when someone gets an abortion, help them through their trauma, don't degrade them and judge them.

I will be focusing on the fact that I can sleep at night because I never ordered the death of anyone. I will focus on the fact that I made sure of the consequences of my actions before I acted. Whether a child is unborn or 2 years old, you cannot decide if he or she should live. I will focus on praying (that's right praying) for the pro-choice advocates. Let them understand the immoral act of abortion. I will also focus on the countless women to whom I have spoken who mourn the loss of their sweet children and regret the horible decision they made in aborting them. I will focus on how it breaks my heart to know that this is accepted as, to me, it is the equivalent to the death of Conner Peterson and the sad circumstances of the children of Andrea Yates and Susan Smith.

As far as fetuses being alive, "science" recognizes 7 characteristics of life which are all had by an unborn fetus. Without 1 of these 7, an organism is not alive and with having all of them, it is considered alive. They are: environmental adaptation, cells and organization, metabolism,homeostasis, growth and development, ability to reproduce, and evolution. All are had by a human fetus. Even if you are a scientist, you cannot say that an unborn fetus is not alive.

I am so excited about this story of love! Most women regret having an abortion & every year, about the time of that child's would-be bday, that woman is very depressed. It's not pro-choice, it's pro-death, pro-being burnt alive, pro-being mutilated one piece @ a time... feeling everything. GO FOCUS ON THE FAMILY! THANK YOU GOD FOR MY LIFE! Life is a choice and I am so glad it was the one I made. My son is the joy of my life, even though my pregnancy was not planned. I am thankful for my pro-Life friends and, while I disagree with abortion, I do not have an issue with those who favor it speaking out. Wow! You guys look a little silly for protesting that ad! Celebrate family, Celebrate LIFE!

My sister and i started a teen pregnancy center, LIFE CHOICE teen pregancy center. The reason? we had so many friends that had 'chosen" abortion because they felt they had no other choice. Planned Parenthood etc told them they'd forget about it, it was no big deal, and those women are now in support groups, therapy or horribly depressed. They were told lies. They were told it was simple and better for them and their baby was an inconvenience. We want these girls to have an informed choice. To see that baby on the ultrasound to give classes on what to do, to be that support, to let them know about adoption. Trust me, they know about abortion.. well they know what the liberal media and PP want them to know, not that it's a proceedure that kills the life growing inside them, not that it will scar them emotionally for the rest of their lives but that it's an option. When we tell these girls what an abortion actually is, over 80% choose life. THAT is a choice... even teenagers know killing is wrong. Why don't these "pro-choicers"?? I watched the ad tonight and loved it even wish it was more strong but it may get some women thinking... do I really want to murder a baby because my bad choices make this an inconvenience or do I want to choose to bless someone who desperatly wants a baby with my child? Laura, Unlike you and your sister, I have never had the initiative to start a teen pregnancy center, but I have worked with people who have, and have helped several women in crisis pregnancies. I can vouch for the truth of every word you write, God bless you. Abortion creates the illusion of a remedy, only to lead to greater trauma later on. I just love it when people who claim to be 'pro-choice' show that there is only one choice a woman can make that they support, and that is abortion.

Far too many women who DON'T want to abort are being forced in that direction by husbands, boyfriends and parents and those who ought to be advocating for these women don't care.

America would be a horrible place if everyone adopts the abortionist mindset of no law should tell a person what to do with his or her body. That means mothers will do drugs while pregnant. Men will rape, loot, steal, assault, kidnap, etc. Parents will abuse and kill their kids. And so on and so on.

That's after all doing what they want with their own bodies.

WOMEN DESERVE BETTER THAN ABORTION

Pro-choicers love to argue women should be able to do what they want with their own bodies without others objecting to those choices.

Do they really believe their own logic there?

How many of them believe all of us should be allow to drive so utterly drunk?

How many of them believe all of us should be allow to take hardcore drugs while pregnant?

How many of them believe all of us should be allow to steal something from another?

How many of them believe all of us should be allow to choke someone to death, molest another, or whatever we do with our own bodies that infringe on the right to life or liberty of another human being?

All those choices, after all, do involve us doing something with our OWN BODIES, be it our hands or whatever other parts of OUR BODIES required to carry out our heinous acts.

My point?

Not all choices are created equal, and just because those are indeed CHOICES of what people do with their OWN BODIES do not mean we have to support those choices LEGALLY.

I just wanted to say that this is all a bunch of bull. Just because an embryo could not survive on its own without the mother's body, it is still a life. It still has a soul. The abortion of that unborn child is murder no matter how you look at it. There is no difference in a woman who muders her child after it is born, and a woman who aborts her baby. Just because the unborn child does not have "rights" does not mean that a woman should have the "right" to end that innocent life.
