Bart Stupak's Version of Health Reform = Our Worst Nightmare

Rep. Bart Stupak is digging in his heels, insisting that the health-reform bill ban insurance coverage for abortion. If the final bill is anything less? He'll try to bring it down.

We are fighting Rep. Stupak with everything we have.

• We sent 22,904 petitions to Speaker Pelosi, Majority Leader Reid, and President Obama in just the last week, and we're still shooting for 30,000 petitions by January 20.
• Volunteers are pouring into our office to mobilize our members to contact Capitol Hill (check out our photo).
• We launched paid phone calls to put even more pressure on Congress.
• NARAL's lobbying team is on call 24/7 and meeting with our pro-choice allies daily.
• Our fantastic state affiliates are organizing volunteers, meeting with lawmakers in their districts, and collecting petition signatures.

Right now, we need all hands on deck to get messages in to all members of Congress. It doesn't matter where you live - all senators and representatives need to hear from you right now.

Abortion coverage will be one of the last issues to get resolved as the House and Senate work out the differences between their bills, and negotiations could go in any direction.
