Let the squawking and swinging begin

| | Comments (4)

I know our readers are aware of how painfully anti-choice Sen. McCain is. And, yes, we've been doing a lot of squawking about how many pro-choice Americans still don't know this (as hard as that may be for many of us to believe).

The problem is, we're right. And our recent poll shows this conclusively.

This week NARAL Pro-Choice America released a poll of swing voters from 12 presidential battleground states. These swing voters are pro-choice Independent and Republican women, and what's 'swinging' them from McCain to Obama is choice. Check this out:

  • Choice is the top issue for moving these key audiences to Obama, trumping other traditional Democratic issues and attacks on McCain.
  • Among key voting blocs of pro-choice Independent and Republican women, McCain's anti-choice record concerns them more than attacks on his economic plan and his position on the war in Iraq.

Take a peek at the great coverage the poll received with U.S. News & World Report, Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Chicago Tribune, and Daily Kos.

These pro-choice swing voters are key in securing a victory for Obama in the fall - and they desperately need to be educated about McCain's anti-choice stance in order for that to happen.

So, please, do a little squawking of your own - the truth shall set us free! (Literally - because you can kiss your freedom and privacy goodbye if McCain is elected.)
