Anti-choice McCain will lose the moderate vote
Good Morning, blogosphere. I wanted to make sure that you all had the opportunity to check out an op-ed in The Star Ledger, written by Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. Here's an excerpt:
For a great deal of the last 30 years, abortion -- and reproductive rights more generally -- have been at the forefront of American politics. Over the last eight years, we have witnessed an anti-choice candidate, George Bush, win two elections by remaining elusive on the issue. And as a repercussion, we have spent almost a decade fighting a dramatic on slaught of attacks on reproductive freedom...
But the fact that abortion has not been totally outlawed has lulled many women into a false sense of security. Roe vs. Wade and the bedrock of reproductive rights may not have fully eroded during Bush's time in office. But another four years with the same anti- choice leadership in the White House -- after another conservative Supreme Court appointment -- and many women won't know what hit them.
You can read the op-ed in its entirety here.
Oh! And also in New Jersey today? Sen. McCain and his "straight talk express." This morning at 11:30 a.m., he will be in Pemberton, NJ for a Town Hall.

Ugh, I am so tired of the same posts over and over. McCain is bad! Obama is good! The fact that we're here means we know this (unless we're those crazy Hillary ladies).
Yes, McCain sucks. Yes, Obama's pro-choice. Is this really the only thing going on in the choice movement right now?
I think these posts are meant to try to call "those crazy Hillary ladies" back and convince them not to vote for McCain. That's going to be tough. They really hate Obama, even though what happened to Hillary was never his fault.
i sure hope he loses the mod vote

How do we know where Obama stands on abortion? He changes what he believes in depending on who he is talking to. He may support abortion one day and not the next. We have seen him do this on war funding, NAFTA, public campaign funding, FISA. We already know he does not respect women. Having a D after his name, is not a good enough reason to vote for him. If you care about women's issues, vote Green party. Make a statement that you respect women. Voting Obama and democrat is saying you agree with all the demeaning, degrading, insulting treatment from his supporters and the media that was hurled at Clinton and women because Clinton had the gall to think a women should dare run against a man. If Obama and the democrats are so great on women's issues, why were they silent when Keith Olberman called for violence against Hillary Clinton? The DNC chose Obama and were fine with the way Clinton was treated. Democrats are no better than Republicans anymore. They will throw away women's rights if it will get them the White House.
