Important Update from South Dakota
There's a great update in today's Argus Leader that highlights yet another initiative to ban abortions in South Dakota:
An initiative to stop abortions in South Dakota except in cases of rape or incest will endanger women’s health, allow more government intrusion into private lives and interfere with good doctor care, a group opposed to bans on abortion says.Jan Nicolay, cho-chair of the South Dakota Campaign for Healthy Families, called a petition drive to put the abortion ban on the November ballot “disingenuous” during a press conference Wednesday.
“They want to get it on and get it passed,” Nicolay said of an initiated measure that would ban abortions except for rape and incest. “Then they’re going to come in and take out the exceptions.
The Vote Yes for Life campaign held a press conference today to talk about their petition collecting efforts.
Please take a moment to visit NARAL Pro-Choice South Dakota's website to find out how to get involved, and be sure to check back tomorrow for a longer article that is bound to follow today's press conference.
