Good news in Arizona

I love some good news.

The Arizona Supreme Court is letting stand a lower court's ruling that Maricopa County can't enforce a jail policy that bars transporting inmates for elective abortions without a court order.

The Jan. 23 Court of Appeals ruling that said the policy was an "exaggerated response" to the requirements of running a jail and violates the privacy rights of the inmates under the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Something similar is going down in Missouri. Ann from Feministing reports:

In the ongoing legal battle over whether Missouri inmates have a right to access abortion services, an appeals court panel heard arguments this week as to whether the state is required to transport incarcerated women off-site to have an abortion.

RH Reality Check has more.
