AZ Gov. vetoes anti-choice bill
Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano vetoed an anti-choice parental consent bill yesterday, her fourth veto of an abortion-related bill this month. Way to be on top of shit!
"Requiring a consultation with a physician, as opposed to other medically trained personnel, would impose an unduly burdensome cost," Napolitano wrote.
She is seriously pissing anti-choicers off. Maybe that’s why I like her so much...

Good going, indeed! But it's hardly an effort for her to "be on top of shit". Every bill that comes out of the Legislature is sent to her for signature - it's not like she can overlook it.
I don't mean to discredit her or her action on this bill. But I often think it's to the point now that anybody who simply does the obviously right and decent thing when it's dropped right in their lap is treated like a hero. She deserves all credit for vetoing this bill, but she's not a hero - it was the minimally correct thing she could have done, a no-brainer morally (whether or not politically), and didn't really require any effort on her part.
