Antichoice group wants to aerial displays over Hawaii

Yikes.

An anti-abortion group took its case for aerial advertising before the federal appeal court meeting today in Honolulu.

The Center for Bio-Ethical Reform wants a ban lifted so it can fly a graphic anti-abortion banner over Waikiki. Attorney Robert Muise says their message is being illegally censored.

I can only imagine what “graphic” means. All of a sudden, a Hawaii vacation doesn’t sound so hot.

Ehh, just don't look up.

So let's just fly a larger banner along side. Point, counter-point.

Hey, i have one comment. I am not either pro-choice or pro-life right now. I see both points of view. But you really influence me and others like me away from supporting your cause because pro-choice people seem to be the most self-centered, narrow minded people i've ever met. You don't see that there are other views and that it is all right to believe something else. I think I'm now pro-life because of the way you people act. It is ridiculous.

Beg to differ, Susan25, sounds like a description of the religious right. The narrow-minded view is that women should not have the right of deciding what is best for them. That Christian teachings are the be all in regards to policies our government should adopt on this issue. Our society claims to be plurarlistic in religious and social outlooks. Let us practice what we claim to be, or just drop the facade of democracy, and pass out the rosaries.

"because pro-choice people seem to be the most self-centered, narrow minded people i've ever met. You don't see that there are other views and that it is all right to believe something else"

I think it's perfectly fine to believe something else, and I don't see where anyone is saying it isn't. I don't care if you believe that abortion is wrong - great! But that doesn't mean I won't fight to keep abortion legal. Why does that make me narrow minded? You seem to be the one with negative and hateful opinions.

I do not think pro-choice people are narrow-minded. I just think they haven't seen the light yet. So go ahead and fight to keep abortion legal, because I can promise you that I will be fighting just as hard to make it a crime.

What light is it that we are supposed to see? Thanks for the back hand compliment, but I believe the pro-choice people have seen all the light they need.
Let me tell you, it is easy to be a guy. Use a condom or not? No big problem! Try Viagra? Why not? No controversey there. Woman gets pregnant? Her problem. Woman tries to deal with it? FIRE and BRIMSTONE! TOTAL DUPLICITY! Duplicity propagated by male dominated religious dictums{no pun intended}. The early Christian church potrayed women as unclean and the source of all sin, i.e. Eve in the garden of paradise{what the hell was that?} That pathetic legacy continues to this day in the denial of women having the intellectual capacity to determine what is best for their lives. It implies women are incabable of a reasoned decision. What total bull-crap!

Seems to me that Susan made up her mind long before she got there. But hey, if you think you can shame pro-choicers into shutting up by raising a specter of negative influence, I guess you have to try.
