Georgia to vote on waiting period law today
The State House is set to vote on a proposal requiring a 24-hour
waiting before getting an abortion. Thankfully this bill is a little less insane than the original, but not
by much. These waiting periods are just
a way to further limit access to abortion—and they particularly hurt women
who are traveling from other counties or who have to take a day off from work
to seek the procedure.
